Ghanaian coach making waves at English League side

Gordon Boateng Gordon Boateng

It has been another busy week for Blues boss Gordon Boateng as he added two more players to his ever-growing squad.

The new man in charge has brought back midfielder Luke Milbourne to the club. The 21-year-old (pictured above) came through the Blues' academy and was part of the first team squad in the 2013/14 season.

He spent time at Ryman North sides Tilbury and Brightlingsea Regent, before returning in February, but did not make an appearance under Rod Stringer.

Boateng has added another midfield option in Tambeson Eyong. The ex-West Ham United youth player also played for Dagenham & Redbridge, while having a spell at former Scottish Premier League side Gretna.

He then had a short period at Aveley and Harlow Town, before signing for AFC Hornchurch.

He started the 2014/15 season with Canvey Island before leaving to join Margate.

But having been released by Margate, Eyong returned to Canvey Island and then went back to Hornchurch.

The duo now join a midfield of Ryan Auger, Luis Morrison, Joe Benjamin, Josh Ekim and Scott Shulton who have already signed for the upcoming Vanarama National League South season.

Former Blues striker Elliott Buchanan added to his end-of-season honours as he was named Vanarama National League South Player of the Year.

The 26-year-old scored 28 league goals and 34 in all competitions last season.

Buchanan's league total credited him with being the top goalscorer in the division and he received the two awards at the National League Congress.

That was the fifth award that Buchanan had swept up since the end of the season, winning all three of the Blues' Player of the Year trophies.
