Appiah hungry for silverware

Ghana midfielder Stephen Appiah has revealed his ambition to win the African Golden Ball. The Juventus midfielder, has been impressive this season since signing from Parma in the summer, with coach Marcelo Lippi picking him ahead of Mauro Camoranesi.

He told Corriere dello Sport: "I want to win it. It's one of my dreams.

"I think I have a good chance of winning it, and I'll be successful in the end."

But the ambitious Ghanaian is not content with just scooping the African prize, due to be awarded in December, he said: "I want to win everything. Supporters only want the Champions League but I want more because I've never won anything.

"I was talking to Alessio Tacchinardi and Alessandro Del Piero, I asked them to help me win the scudetto, then we will get the Champions League," he said.
