Medeama president Moses Armah says he is happy with the job done by his lads after they overcame Mamelodi Sundowns to advance to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.

Coach Augustine Evans Adotey and his troops made no mistake in their battle with the South Africans as strikes from Malik Akowuah and Bernard Ofori sealed a famous victory for the young Ghanaian team.

It's been a remarkable run so far by the ambitious Ghanaian side who have chalked a massive history by qualifying to the last eight for the first time.

It's been tough but a well determined Ghanaian side are on the rise in African inter-club competition.

And an elated club president Moses Armah has been left thrilled with feat chalked by his young team.

“We fought, we suffered, we worked until the end against a team that many had predicted will eliminate us. I’m happy with the work," he said

"We have done the job, and that's most important thing. Now we have to rest well and think about the group stage.

“This achievement means a lot to the Ghanaian people. And we're happy for them.

"Today we celebrate but tomorrow hard work continues for us.

"I have no doubt in my mind that this year is going to be special for us."
