General Manager, Samuel Opoku Nti is demanding a retraction and an unqualified apology from Kumasi based radio station, Metro FM over what he describes as a “vicious, false publication” authored by the media house and also published on their Facebook Page.

The radio station, the Kotoko manager says, has 24hours to retract their publication and also apologise. Metro FM, on Tuesday reported that, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has “directed his Auditors and the Ashanti Regional Police Command to investigate Opoku Nti [concerning a] Hospital building”.

They further claimed that, the Asantehene, who is the Owner and Life Patron of Kotoko disclosed this when he paid a surprise visit to club’s Adako Jachie training grounds. But in a reaction, Opoku Nti says at no point did the Great King order any investigation.

Opoku Nti termed the radio station’s claims as “bogus”. He said they were “malicious” and targeted at soiling his hard earned reputation. “It’s big a lie. One that’s meant to embarrass me in the eyes of the discerning public. I’m demanding a retraction and an apology within the next 24hours. There’s no truth in what they published” he said.

“I want to put on record that, there’s no truth in their story. I ask for a retraction and an apology”. Asked whether he would take any further action if his demand doesn’t come, the Kotoko General Manager said the necessary action would be determined.

Asantekotokosc.com understands that, Metro FM’s Facebook publication has embarrassed many around the club and that, they would go every length to protect Opoku Nti and Kotoko’s image if the retraction and apology don’t come within the stipulated time.
