Dwarfs Draw with Feynord

Cape Coast, Sept 2, GNA-A goal scored by inside right, Ato Ghansah, in the 36th minute enabled Oguaa Ebusua Dwarfs to draw 1-1 with Feynord Salgado in their Division One League match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Sunday.

The match which was handled by Takoradi based Fifa referee F.K. Bassaw Feynord kept the spectators spell bound with copybook soccer throughout its duration.

In the process, Feynord forced Dwarfs to defend most of the first half until the 36th minute, when centre forward Nafiu Iddrisu scored the opener with a header.

Centre half, Danladi Sheriff after collecting a pass dribbled on onrushing Dwarfs goalkeeper Baba Muniru and put the ball on the path of team-mate Iddrisu to score.

The second half was reduced to a rough house tactics with Feynord being the worst offenders.

In the process, they conceded a penalty, which was however wasted by Ekow Ghansa who shot straight into the open hands of Philemon Macarthy in Feynord's post.

But Ghansah atoned for his mistake when he exploited a defensive blunder to score the much-needed equaliser in the 76th minute. Result of other league matches were Kasoa Fauzan 1, Mpohor Iron Fighters 0. Cape Coast Venomous Vipers 1, Samatex 2; Sekondi Eleven Wise 3, Takoradi Bafanabafna 0.
