An ardent supporter of Kotoko George Oti-Bonsu has questioned the competency of the current management of the Club.

The supporter who is well known in the Kotoko fraternity is disturbed by the way and manner the Club is been run by the Opoku Nti led administration.

Oti-Bonsu, a business tycoon has cast huge doubt about the administrative skills of Opoku Nti who he described as a “pure footballer”.

According to the supporter, Opoku Nti unlike the past managers of the Club has no administrative background.

He further went on to compare the current days at the Club to that of the past which was managed by the likes of Herbert Mensah, Dr. KK Sarpong, BK Adusei, Simms Kofi Mensah who were all business endowed and had rich experiences in football administration.

The concern fan however expressed his dissatisfaction with the works of the current administration led by Opoku Nti.

“It is very worrying to see Kotoko in this manner, Kotoko in those days was managed by some business moguls in the country,” he told GHANA SPORTS Newspaper.

“I remember during the days of Herbert Mensah, Kotoko was then a force to reckon with in terms of performance and sponsorships. Herbert was able to pull some good sponsorship to the Club which for me helped Kotoko a lot.

“Opoku Nti for me is not a football administrator, he is a pure footballer who has retired. Being an ex-footballer doesn’t mean you know football administration. Playing football and football management are two separate things.

“Looking at his qualification I think he would have been ok as a team Manager and not the General Manager.

“The likes of BK Adusei, Simms Kofi Mensah were all business endowed and they helped Kotoko a lot. Dr. KK Sarpong also did well for the Club.

Opoku Nti was on the verge of losing his position as General Manager of the Club after the team failed to retain both the League title and FA Cup trophy last season.

His administration which was pardoned by the bankroller of the Club His Royal highest Otumfuo Osei Tutu has been tasked to redeem the Club’s image this term.

The Ghanaian giants have begun their League campaign on a patchy note after losing their opening game to WAFA.
