VIDEO:Danny Welbeck issues New Year message in Ghanaian language

Danny Welbeck has issued a Happy New Year message on behalf of his English Premier League side Arsenal to the people of Ghana in pristine Ghanaian language.

The England striker issued the heart-warming message in Twi without any hints that he is not a native speaker of the language which is spoken by many people in the West African country.

He said: 'Afehyia Pa' which means Happy New Year but the message is filled with lots meaning as it literally says the New Year meets you with a lot of good.

Welbeck, whose parents are from Ghana, opted to play England even though Ghanaian federation officials expressed interest in him playing for the country.



Accidentally he made his England senior team debut against Ghana - with the Black Stars excelling in the game that ended 1-1 at Wembley.
