T.P Mazembe displayed their free flow attacking football to beat the Ghana select side on Sunday at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra in the Mo Ibrahim Governance Cup

However, the great game ended in embarrassment infront of the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, Mo Ihrahim and Moise Katumbe, the owner of T.P Mazembe as concert lights were lit to replace defective stadium floodlights, which forced referee Lamptey to bring the game into a close, after 30 minutes of action in the second half.

Daniel Nii Adjei shot the African champions into the lead in 14 minute, after heading home a header from a corner kick, before Merschak Elia doubled their lead in 20 minute, after Ghana Premier League defender of the year, Baba Mensah had gifted him the ball.

However, Godfred Saka pulled one back for the Dream Team through a stunning freekick outside the 18 yard box, after slippery Samuel Tetteh had been brought down in the 24 minute.

The select side of Ghana upped their game and just at a point that it seemed they were going to get the much needed equalizer, a scintillating cross from Yaw Frimpong located Elia, who positioned himself well to nod the ball perfectly to restore the two goal margin lead by T.P Mazembe.

Kofi Owusu should have registered his name on the score sheet, just two minutes after the Congolese giants' 3rd goal, but he miskicked the ball in a one on one situation with Robert Kidiaba.

Stephen Appiah, until he was replaced in the 30th minute by Laryea Kingston, tormented the T.P Mazembe defence line with his piercing passes and perfect combination with Samuel Tetteh.

Laryea Kingston announced his presence in the game for the wrong reason by being the first player to enter into the referee’s book, after he had fouled the away side's midfielder in the second half.

The second half of the game produced no goal as the possession was evenly shared between the two sides, but the troubles of Kofi Owusu continued by failing to find the net as the lead attacker of the select side of Ghana, which compelled coach C.K Akunnor to replace him with Joel Fameyeh of Asokwa Deportive, a division one league side.
