George Ashie still a ward of Classic Vision Sports

World title chasing Ghanaian boxer, George Kotey Ashie (25-4-1, 18 KOs) alias Red Tiger is still managed by Classic Vision Sports Promotions and Management, Allsports.com.gh can exclusively reveal contrary to earlier reports that the reigning Interim WBO Africa Lightweight champion signed with new managers.

Accra based Reinsports Management headed by Abraham Reindorf AKA Teddy Moore believed they had sealed a 3-year management deal with the boxer back in January after a short signing-on ceremony at Asia Gardens Restaurant in Dansoman.

But Classic Vision Sports Promotions and Management led by Alhaji Zaid and Ahmed Apedo alias Pasaasa who had managed Ashie all his career lodged a complaint with the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) seeking an annulment of any such deal because they still maintained the management rights of the boxer.

The two parties were called to an arbitration by the country's boxing governing body, during which Reinsport Management reportedly threw in the towel even before the GBA reached a verdict making their ruling much easier.

In the event, the Peter Zwennes led Ghana Boxing Authority had no choice than to officially declare Classic Vision Sports Promotions as still the outright managers of George Ashie.
