Ashgold seals lucrative deal with Permafix

Ghanaian champions AshantiGold have signed an initial one-year sponsorship deal with Permafix Industries, a leading tile adhesives manufacturers in West Africa.

The deal was penned in Accra on Thursday but the amount was not disclosed, GHANASoccernet can confirm.

Permafix Industries will now become the club’s official headline sponsor and wants to take advantage of AshantiGold adventure in Africa (CAF Champions League) next year.

They produce color grouts, tile cleaning chemical waterproof cement admix (plasticizers), dry mortar and also supply tiling tools.

Managing Director of Permafix Industries Ghana Limited Fady Abou-Chedid said: “Permafix and AshGold are two growing entities and we felt we can develop together to become into the next stage of where Permafix is heading and I think AshGold are heading in the right direction for Permafix as a winning team.”

AshantiGold will be signing their first lucrative deal in two decades and that excites Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo.

He said: “It is a long time since we put pen to paper coming with a meaningful sponsorship deal in terms of cash.

“We’ve taken a bite at some sponsorship deals but they were all product based but this one coming with cash and you know cash could do to a football club that is going to embark on a very expensive venture such as the CAF Champions League.”

The Miners will be playing in the preliminary qualifying rounds of the 2016 CAF Champions League.

They must also defend the Ghana Premier League title for the upcoming 2015/2016 campaign.
