C.K Akunnor insists he wasn’t a failure in his previous campaigns in the Ghana Premier League with Eleven Wise and Hearts of Oak.

The former Black Stars captain was fired by both clubs due to beliefs his performance as a coach was not satisfactory enough.

Akunnor first teamed up with former Ghana teammate Odartey Lamptey to coach XI Wise into relegation in the 2011/12 season.

He was then handed another opportunity by giants Hearts of Oak but was relieved of his duties just over a year down the line.

Akunnor now looks set to coach once more again in the Premier League after leading Dreams FC to promotion from the second tier subject to a protest from Tema Youth.

The former Wolfsburg star in relishing another campaign in the Ghanaian top flight remains adamant his previous stints in the division was a success.

“At Eleven Wise and Hearts of Oak, people thought I didn’t do well,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“It is from you people in the media but I know I did well per the circumstances I found myself.

“I have Dreams FC now and I am more relaxed and we hope to achieve greater things.”
