Promising Ghana midfielder Godfred Donsah lasted the entire duration as Bologna revived their campaign with a 2-1 win at ten-man Carpi in the Emilia-Romagna derby.

Donsah was making his first start for the Rossoblu since regaining full fitness from a thigh injury which sidelined him for weeks.

Both sides were promoted over the summer, but Bologna had lost seven out of eight rounds with Coach Delio Rossi hanging by a thread.

Carpi took the lead when Marco Borriello’s effort was charged down and Gaetano Letizia turned in the follow-up from six yards.

Bologna equalised straight after the restart, as a corner came out to Luca Rizzo and he smashed it off the base of the upright, captain Daniele Gastaldello turning in the rebound.

Considering Carpi were down to 10 men for almost an hour, they held out fairly comfortably until the 93rd minute.

Belec seemed surprised by a cross from Franco Brienza that bounced in front of him and only flapped it for Adam Masina to tap in at the back post.
