Can Vanli take over Hearts' coaching job?

Sources close to Allsports.com.gh can reveal that, Turkish trainer Can Vanli is the favourite to land the Hearts of Oak job after talks between the Accra giants and Medeama’s coach Tom Strand fell through.

The Phobians during the course of last season parted ways with Herbert Addo for non-performance and the club’s management mandated Eddie Ansah and appointed Can Vanli as attache coach to handle the team till the end of the season.

The coaching position of the club attracted interest from top coaches like, Eddie Ansah, Can Vanli, Tom Strand and Ernst Midderdorp but the committee scouting for the coach settled on Strand.

However, talks between Hearts of Oak and the Swedish tactician fell through but sources close to Allsports.com.gh can reveal that, Turkish trainer Can Vanli will be the immediate option for Hearts of Oak.

“We opted for Tom Strand because he has been in Ghana for the past two years and he knows the trend of the local game but we failed to reach an agreement with him and it doesn’t stop us from searching for a coach.

“Now the available option is Can Vanli, because with five games to end last season he was brought in to help Eddie Ansah after the sacking of Herbert Addo and he showed to us when given the chance he will do wonders with the club so definitely we are going to settle on him,” the source revealed.

Can Vanli and Eddie Ansah helped the Phobians to a 4 place finish in the 2014-15.
