Ghana international attacker mahatma Otoo scored a brace to power Sogndal IF back to Norwegian top-flight as they condemned rivals Hønefoss to a 5-2 defeat on Sunday.

The former Hearts of Oak forward, 23, scored in the 42nd and 82nd minutes of the game to register his 10th and 11th goal league goals of the season for Sogndal who have secured promotion back into the Norwegian top-flight after a season in the wilderness.

With three games left to round up the season, Sogndal have established a commanding lead at the summit with 56 points while second-place FK Brann have amassed 52 points.

Otoo took to Twitter to celebrate his brace and Sogndal’s promotion back into the Norway top division.

The 2013 Ghana Premier League Golden Shoe Award winner joined Sogndal two seasons ago from Hearts of Oak but his side was relegated from the top-tier league.

His brace on the afternoon helped their promotion cause as they needed the maximum points from the game to gain promotion.
