Tandoh Memorial Golf on October 17

The maiden Bill Tandoh Memorial Open Golf Championship tee-off at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, October 17.

Frank Akwasi Opoku, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club who disclosed this at Tema on Wednesday, said the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition, which is opened to amateur golfers is being played in memory of Mr Bill Tandoh, an entrepreneur and President of Celebrity Golf Club who died 15 years ago.

He said about 120 golfers are expected to participate in the competition which would be played in Juniors, Seniors, Ladies and Men’s Scratch.

Akwasi Opoku said the competition which would be played in accordance with the rules of the World’s Golf Governing body and the local rules of the Celebrity Golf Club, is being sponsored by Imperial Peking Chinese Restaurant, Holiday Inn Hotel, Tandoh’s children, and Tandoh’s companies.

Teye Lartey Gberbie, winner of the Dean of Diplomatic Corps Golf, Joe Ampofo, Majid Joher, Oluwale Akinode, and Daniel Aryee are expected to be seen in action.

The Ladies segment would also witness a stiff opposition from Leticia Amponsnah-Mensah, Mercy Werner, Cathy Boateng and Maureen Akuako.
