Let’s talk education Africa , one of the projects sought to promote the agenda of education on the platform of the prestigious and glamorous African Cup of Nations AFCON.

Dubbed “Kick a ball AFCON 2017”, the event will culminate in getting African soccer legends to kick a soccer ball from Ghana through Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon to Gabon where children from selected African countries will engage in a tournament and petition CAF to use their platform to promote education and build tournament legacy schools in selected countries after every AFCON and to also Get Soccer legends to support education in Africa.

The 4th Let’s talk education at Christmas on the other hand will be held from December 22, 2015 to January 4, 2016 and it intended to use the festive occasion of Christmas to reach family heads, parents, chiefs, young people, children, and community stakeholders to become alive to their roles and responsibilities in the delivery of the vital agenda of education. Educational gifts will also be given to children. We urge you all to buy and give educational gifts to your children and to those in need.

Each country will implement a climaxing event in a selected community to share the benefits of taking education seriously. In Nigeria Ibadan will be the focus, in Kenya the County of Kwale will be the hosts, in Ghana the Volta Region will host and in Benin the city of Cotonou will host the maiden edition in the Country.

The Ghana NGOs wind down and cocktail will be an evening of fun, music, networking with refreshment and sharing experiences. Innovations will be on exhibition.

ORPED intends this to be an annual event for staff of NGOs / CSOs, Captains of NGOS / CSOs, Staff of CBOs / CSOs / NGOs, Lobbyist for development work, Community Leaders, Policy Advocates and Drivers, Government Leaders, Development Partners, Strategic service providers (Insurance, Logistics, Banking and all corporate organizations), not forgetting all likeminded organizations and individuals.

ORPED Ghana is the main initiator of these events to promote education in Africa. Established in 1995, it has in the past initiated the Million Balls Project for African Children, the Closer-to-Children festivals, Child Learning Tours, the Ghana NGOs Games and the Ghana NGOs Partnership Programs.

It is hoped that these events will emphasis the core vision of stimulating children to learn hard and become competitive in their future endeavours.
