We Are Not Giving Up -Appiah

Described as Ghana's most committed player currently, Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah has described Ghana's 1-1 drawn game with Uganda last Wednesday as a difficult match.

Appiah who on many occasions saw his attempts at goal not finding target says he and his colleagues are not giving up now since they have a brighter chance of qualifying for Tunisia 2004.

The captain who has endeared himself to all received the fans' commendation after the breathtaking drawn game in Kumasi.

A cross-section of fans that thronged the Kumasi Sports Stadium to watch the game singled out the Brescia midfielder as the most committed player. But Appiah believes every other player played his part.

Stephen Appiah who has still not recorded a single win as captain of the Black Stars since assuming the position says Ghana's chances are very high on the stakes as they play against Rwanda in two weeks.

KUFFOUR HAPPY TO BE BACK

Black Stars prodigal son Samuel Osei Kuffour says he is very happy to rejoin the senior national team after almost a year of absence.
Kuffour who made his return last Sunday in Ghana's 2004 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Cranes of Uganda played a greater part of the game until he was substituted in the second half.
In a post match interview, the Bayern Munich defender described the 1-1 drawn game with the Cranes of Uganda as a very tough one for Ghana. But the Ghanaian international defender sounded very optimistic about Ghana's chances of qualifying for Tunisia 2004.
With Ghana having four points and placed second on the table to Uganda who have five points in the three-nation group, Osei Kuffour says a win in Kigali is what they are going after.
Admitting that the game against Rwanda next Sunday is going to be a difficult one, Sammy Osei Kuffour says he's joining the team to Kigali to help make Ghana's qualification for Tunisia 2004 a certainty.
Commenting on the reason for his substitution, the Bayern star says, he called for it because he was having some waist pains.
In separate post match interviews, Turkish-based striker, Augustine Arhinful said the early goal by the Cranes of Uganda affected the play of the Black Stars.
Black Stars redeemer, Charles Amoah said it was a difficult game for the Black Stars but was quick to point out that the tactical plan of Burkhard by introducing other strikers helped Ghana turn things around.
