Black Stars player Andre (Dede) Ayew found a perfect way of announcing his presence in the English Premier League with a debut goal he will hold on to for years to come.

His 29th-minute effort, which put his new team Swansea City on level after going down by one goal against Chelsea Saturday, was one he needed to make a statement.

A goalmouth melee, it saw a Jefferson Montero cross into the box saved by Thibaut Courtois who also had to quickly respond to a Bafetimbi Gomis’s header. Coutois, however, had very little answer to Andre Ayew’s attempt, who tucked in after a rebound.

Chelsea retook the lead against Swansea as Willian saw his cross deflected past Lukasz Fabianski. Oscar had opened the scoring for the Stamford Bridge side.

Mourinho’s side would later see their lead leveled again with a neatly converted Bafetimbi Gomis penalty in the 55th minute; 2:2 it ended.

Saturday’s big kick-off was Ayew’s first step to what is expected to be a fruitful Premier League journey. His brother Jordan Ayew played some 60 minutes for Aston Villa, who won 1:0.
