No relegation for Olympics – Fred Pappoe

Board Member of Accra Great Olympics, Fred Pappoe says Accra Great Olympics will come good despite recent streak of poor results in the ongoing local league.

Olympics are lying 15th on the league table after 18 matches. The club last two recent results saw them suffer back to back defeats to Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Despite what looks a seemingly gloomy picture, the club’s supporters have remained hopeful.

Olympics recently entered into a contract with the Accra-based Global Village Media Group, which also owns Metro TV, in the hope it would lead to a renewed sense of drive. The partnership has so far failed to produce anything glittering save for few show-offs.

But Board Member, Fred Pappoe in an exclusive interview with Kasapa Sports says all hopes were not lost, and that the club will survive relegation.

“Well it is football sometimes you win, you lose or draw. In both matches our boys did what they had to do but it was unfortunate we had to lose. We will gather the pieces and come back again”, he spoke on their recent losses.

“It was unfortunate we missed the services of our senior players who were either injured or down with a bout of malaria in Kotoko game, but we will survive relegation.”

Olympics return to league action this weekend as they take on trek to Wa All Stars in a Week 19 fixture.
