Donsah vows to 'deliver' U-20 trophy

Godfred Donsah is optimistic the national U-20 team will come good at the 2015 world youth championships and finish top of the podium when the trophy is handed out on June 20.

Donsah played his first ever game for his country at any level following a 90 minutes show in midfield for Ghana's Black Satellites in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Austria in a Group B match day one clash at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Donsah received a yellow card very early in the game but the sensational teenager battled with his heart on his sleeve all game long as the Satellites overcame an early second half deficit to grab an equaliser and point in injury time, to move level with all three other teams in the group following a 2-2 draw between Argentina and Panama earlier.

The 18 year old Cagliari of Italy star is not overly worried that his side appeared sluggish and came within minutes of suffering a shock defeat to the Europeans.

Donsah wasted no time at all in taking to social media soon after the game to calm the nerves of his countrymen back home, assuring all that the Black Satellites will deliver the ultimate in New Zealand.

"It's a slow start but we will deliver Ghanaians the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015," Godfred Donsah posted on Twitter.

The Satellites next face record 6-time winners, Argentina same time on Tuesday June 2 at the same Wellington Regional Stadium.
