Chinese Embassy donates to Black Queens

The Chinese Embassy in Accra on Monday donated 50 footballs to the national women soccer team, the Black Queens.

The donation is to help the team in its preparation towards the FIFA Women's World Cup scheduled for China latter in the year.

Mr. Lu Yougshou, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana who made the presentation described the donation as a demonstration of friendship between the people China and Ghana.

He expressed the wish of his country to promote mutually beneficial co-operation in various fields including youth and sports development.

Mr. Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Youth, Education and Sports received the balls on behalf of the queens and expressed his appreciation to the embassy for their gesture.

The Minister said the nation's deep passion for sports, particularly football could reach appreciable levels " when all the 110 districts have easy access to training facilities.

He urged the Chinese government to consider supporting the country in that direction.
