I won’t be complacent – Joshua Clottey

Former IBF Welterweight champion Joshua Clottey has promised not to be complacent in Saturday’s bout against unknown Mexican Jorge Silva.

According to him, underrating the minnow could land him in an embarrassing state.

Clottey goes into his 44th career fight at the Minute Maid Park in Houston Texas as the world’s number 8 ranked boxer by the WBC and number 3 by the WBA while Silva is not rated among the world’s top 15.

Joshua the Hitler Clottey, as he is affectionately called, is aware he must put in his best effort to clinch his 39th career victory.

“This kind of fight is always dangerous because most of the fighters don’t think about that if you going to fight with someone who is not known and you don’t train very well, you will be shocked so that’s the more reason I have to train well both physically and mentally so I am ready for him,” Clottey told Starr Sports.
