Ghana drops to 26 in latest FIFA ranking

Ghana has dropped from the 24th position to 26th in the latest FIFA ranking released Thursday.

All the top 5 African nations were hardly favoured in the latest rankings for March.

Ghana, however, maintained its third ranking on the continent.

Only fifth-ranked side Senegal maintained their world ranking of 36th as Algeria, Ivory Coast and Tunisia – who dropped five places down – dropped places.

Liberia – ranked 131st in the world – were the heaviest casualties on the continent as they dropped 14 places, followed by Equatorial Guinea, who dropped 11 places to 61st.

On the global ranking, Germany continues to lead the pack followed by Argentina.

Belgium have climbed to third with Colombia and Brazil wrapping up the Top 5 world powerhouses of football.

The next ranking is scheduled to be released on May 7.
