I merited the MVP award at the 2015 AYC - Yeboah?

Black Satellites midfielder Yaw Yeboah believes he deserved the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 Africa Youth Championship award, despite claims from some fans he did not do much to win the accolade.

“I did well in some ways, but I know everyone has an opinion. I think I have done a great job to get this award. It will motivate me to go for the bigger one in the future,” Yeboah told Starr Sports.

The 18-year-old beat two-time man-of-the-match winner at the tournament Nigeria’s Taiwo Awoniyi to the MVP accolade, though the Manchester City man had only claimed only one man-of-the-match gong.

Yeboah scored twice in the 3-1 win over Mali that helped the Black Satellites clinch a third place finish at the continental championship in Senegal.
