Sampdoria insists Alfred Duncan is part of Ghana’s squad for March friendlies

Ghanaian international, Alfred Duncan will be released by Sampdoria for this month’s friendlies against Senegal and Mali after the club stated on its website that the midfielder has been invited by the Ghana FA to the Black Stars.

The 22-year-old failed to make Coach Avram Grant’s 22-man squad for the test matches though his name was stated in the previous 27-man squad leaked to the media.

Since the Ghana FA sent Sampdoria invitations for the Afriyie Acquah and Alfred Duncan, the ex-Inter Milan player could still be drafted into the squad as a replacement for any midfielder, who sustains an injury prior to the warm-up games.

Ghana will face Senegal in Le Havre on March 28 before taking on Mali in Paris on March 31 in the FIFA-sanctioned friendly matches.
