George Afriyie tips Sellas Tetteh to win 2015 AYC in Senegal

Black Stars Management Committee Chairman, George Afriyie believes Sellas Tetteh has the right level of experience to supervise the Ghana Under-20 side to repeat the feat chalked in 2009 during the 2015 Africa Youth Championship in Senegal.

Coach Tetteh led the Black Satellites to win the 2009 Africa Youth Championship in Rwanda and guided a different generation of national under-20 team players to clinch a silver medal winning feat in Algeria.

“The team can win the trophy. If you have a coach (Sellas Tetteh) that has won the cup before and then in the last edition, he was a finalist, then there is no other realistic target for him than to win the competition,” George Afriyie said.

Ahead of Ghana’s campaign in Group B of the competition against Mali, South Africa and Zambia, Coach Tetteh has been in Antalya, Turkey, with his 21-man squad and will round up their preparations with a friendly match against Iraq on Monday.

The ex-Rwanda trainer guided the Black Satellites to earn qualification to the Senegal 2015 tournament during the era of George Afriyie as the team’s Management Committee Chairman.
