John Antwi tastes defeat in Al Shabab FC debut

Ghana striker John Antwi tasted defeat on his debut for Al Shabab FC in the 1-0 away defeat at Al Khaleej in a Saudi Pro League match on Thursday.

The 22-year-old attacker came off the bench in the 52nd minute as a replacement for Abdulmajeed Al Sulaiheem, two minutes after Al Khaleej had taken the lead through Ahmed Al Mubarak.

Coach Jaime Pacheco decided to bring on Antwi to improve Al Shabab FC’s chances of equalizing but the ex-Zamalek trainer’s tactical change did not make a difference.

John Antwi, who recently joined Al Shabab from Ismaily, will be hoping to score his first goal for the Riyadh-based club in next Thursday’s home league clash with Al Fateh.
