Kotoko, Hearts, to add to Liberty/Olympics woes

The much publicised LG Top four competition enters its second week this weekend pregnant with promising actions as all roads leads to the nations wembley, Accra Sports Stadium, on Saturday and Sunday.

Judging from results of the opening games, indications are that two city clubs, Liberty and Olympics would have a common mission when they approach their respective games, - win or burst.

With both clubs losing woefully in the opening games, chances are that they would need a win at all cost to register any dogs chance in the competition which spots the porcupine warriors firmly rooted at the top of the all play all table.

Surprisingly, coaches of the two losers, Cecil Attuquayefio and Duncan respectively went through intense pressure from fans, which even made the later to resign at this crucial moment, and if what was witnessed from their camps are anything to go by, then the weekend encounters would be crunchy ones.

Dansoman based Liberty who had an unexpected loss to the defending champions would seek to redeem their image in front of their scanty but loyal supporters when they come face to face with the Osei-Krom lads on Saturday.

Unlike Kotoko, the league leaders, their opponents lost and that surprise defeat coupled with the unfortunate molestation by some fans on coach Attuquayefio has seriously dampened the spirit of the self acclaimed professionals and a massive come-back looked the clarion cry.

Information gathered from the training camp of Sly Tetteh's boys indicated that the team was working around the clock to correct their mistakes, work on the loopholes and prepare a formidable team for Saturday.

Three was no doubt that Liberty played virtually all their balls in the midfield and dominated play against the Phobians but they were unable to do what mattered most, to put the ball into the net of their opponents.

However the last year's African Cup Winners finalist who are bent on winning the competition to revive the hopes of their teeming supporters, and secondly to pass their second test under the IMC, would display nothing less than the class they exhibited last Sunday.

With both teams clamouring for honours at the expense of each other, a thriller would be the right word for the encounter.

City rivals, Olympics and Hearts would continue the action on Sunday with chances being very even. Olympics who would be playing without Coach David Duncan standing on the touchline for them are expected to sell a good game to the rainbows even if they have to bow.

Though the Dade boys could be said to be going through a difficult period, this is hardly anticipated to disturb their focus and concentration as encounters with the Phobians have always been unpredictable and goes beyond the usual norms and predictions.

With Hearts vowing to add any team to their list of victims this season by collecting all the three points at stake in every game, supporters who would troop to the stadium would definitely have a lot to cheer about as the top four clubs in the country battle it out for supremacy.
