Ghana are facing striker crisis ahead of this month’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations double-header against Uganda and Togo.

Youngster Jordan Ayew is serving a one-match ban and will be unavailable when the Black Stars travel to face Cranes.

But the Lorient forward will eligible to play against the Hawks of Togo four days later at the Tamale Stadium.

Captain Asamoah Gyan is recovering from an injury he picked up playing for his club Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates Arabian Gulf League.

Abdul Majeed Waris, who has lost his starting place, has been experiencing a goal drought at club and country.

He moved to Turkish top-flight side Trabzonspor this season but yet to score his first goal for the club in seven appearances.

Waris’ last goal for the Black Stars in September last year in the 6-1 win over Egypt in the 2014 World Cup qualifier playoff.

There are reports in the local media that caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu has invited Saudi-based Emmanuel Osei Banahene for the matches.
