Accam sweeps Helsingborg's Player of the Season Award

Ghana attacker David Accam has won the Helsingborg Player of the Season Award, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 24-year-old was presented with the award before Helsingborg’s Allsvenskan defeat against IFK Göteborg on Monday night.

“It feels great that people recognise your effort and it shows how far I have come. Not yet but they will give it to him no doubt,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Accam’s dazzling scoring season has seen him bag 17 Allsvenskan goals for the Reds and netted six times to help them reach the final of the Svenska Cupen when they lost against Elfsborg.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate’s running in the season includes five separate braces, 23 goals in all competitions.

Though he behind Lasse Vibe for the Allsvenskan Golden Shoe Award, Accam is being pursued by a host of stellar clubs with Mexican giants Tigres and others reportedly interested in his signature.
