Ziese Confirmed As National Coach

The Ministry of Youth and Sports in consultation with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Management Board has recommended German expatriate, Burkhard Zeise, to be appointed as the new coach of the Senior National team, the Black stars to the government.

The decision is in line with the recommendation of an interview panel, which indicated that the Garman scored the highest mark during the interview, conducted on the 10 and 11 February 2003 for three shortlisted candidates.

A release signed by Kofi Aggrey, Public Relations Officer and copied to the GNA Sports said Burkhard would be invited to meet the management board of the FA in due cause to discuss details of the contract.

The one year tenure with a provision for six months probation in the first instance would afford both parties the opportunity to make critical assessment of each party's performance for a possible change or an extended contract of a two-year term.
