Kwesi Nyantakyi must go - Owusu Bempah

Ernest Owusu Bempah, Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP) has called for the outright dismissal of the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Assessing the performance of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ernest Owusu Bempah called for heads to roll because in his view, the Association has failed to conduct itself properly.

To Owusu Bempah, the GFA President, together with members of the Ghana Football Association soiled their hands and engaged in misappropriation of funds so far as management of the senior national team, Black Stars, is concerned.

He therefore called on the government to disband the GFA and further charged the government to focus on building other sports disciplines.

“Are we manning a Sports Ministry, that’s disciplined, that is supposed to give us medals from all aspects of our sports discipline or is Ghana Football Association that is supposed to give us medals? We spend so much money on Ghana Black Stars and we don’t get nothing from it. So, in my critical opinion, I think the Black Stars should be disbanded. We disband Black Stars. We disband the Ghana Football Association and go back to the drawing board and rebuild our local league,” he said.

Though complimenting the efforts of the GFA Boss, Owusu Bempah believed government can resolve the embarrassment caused the nation by the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil by kicking him out.

“He has achieved a lot. I mean he is the first GFA Boss to take the Black Stars to the World Cup. But it’s all about how much money we have spent in making sure that we prepare the Black Stars for three consecutive World Cups. Almost about 10 million dollars has been spent and nothing has been done…That alone, Kwesi Nyantakyi must go," Owusu Bempah insisted.
