3 Fingers Academy Desilts Maamobi Gutters

3 Fingers Academy, a football club located in Maamobi 'Quarters', on Saturday staged a 5-hour clean up exercise to desilt choked gutters in the Maamobi area.

Mr. Foster Kweku-Baba, leader of 3 Fingers Academy, told ADM that all though the club is noted for training footballers, they have realized that they have to train in a clean and hazard-free environment, hence the initiative to use one of its training sessions for a clean up exercise.

He appealed to the community to desist from indiscriminate disposal of waste into gutters because gutters are purposely made for liquid waste to flow in them.

He was not happy that people in the area choose to dispose of rubbish and human waste in the gutters, choked them and creating havens for mosquitoes to breed and bring malaria infection to the people. He said the indiscriminate disposal of waste into the gutters has made the area vulnerable to other diseases and environmental hazards.
