John Boye suffers injury ahead of Togo clash

Ghana defender John Boye suffered what looked like a serious ankle injury in training on Monday ahead of facing Togo in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The centre-back picked the injury at the Accra Sports Stadium as they returned to training to prepare for the next assignment.

Boye could not walk and had to be helped off the pitch by the medical team.

The Kayseri Erciyesspor’s player has been first choice for Ghana head coach Kwesi Appiah and his inability to recover in time could be a huge blow.

Boye played the entire duration in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Uganda at the Baba Yara Stadium.
