Herbert Mensah's Empire Collapses

The four-year tenure of office of Mr. Herbert Mensah as the CEO of the fabulous club, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, came crumbling down with the dissolution of his management team last Saturday by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The Ashanti king also dissolved the P.V. Obeng-led board which had been in office for barely a year,.

The current development follows a lasting impasse between the management team and the Board which culminated into a major administrative crisis until the dissolutionof the two bodies entrusted with the running of the team at the weekend.

An Interim Management Committee (IMC) is expected to be appointed by close of day today to handle the team untila proper management structure is put in place.

In the interim, the team manager has been entrusted to see to the welfare of the playing body.

Chronicle sources have hinted that former player and international star, Abdul Razak, may be recalled from his assignment in Mali to handle Kotoko as a coach. Another name popping up to help manage the team is former skipper Frimpong-Manso.

Meanwhile, the Asaantehene's personal secretary, Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng, has asked the teeming followers of the club to stay calm as the occupant of the Golden Stool restructures the management apparatus of the team.
