Michael Akuffu training with Kotoko in Tamale

Asante Kotoko captain Michael Akuffo has joined his teammates in Tamale for pre-season with his move abroad yet to be finalized.

The midfielder was expected to join Libyan side Al Ahli Sports Club after the Ghanaian champions accepted a US$ 150,000 offer but his transfer is yet to be concretized.

“He is around; he is with us. He joins his colleagues in camp in tamale and we will be registering him for the upcoming season,” a source said.

Akuffu joined Kotoko four seasons ago from Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy and has been a faithful servant.

He captained the team to win the league and FA Cup double this season.

Akuffu was a member of the Ghana team which won silver at the 2014 African Nation Championship in South Africa.
