‘Management committee members deserve $82,500 bonus’

Youth and Sports Ministry chief director Alhaji Abdulai Yakubu has defended the payment of GHc 82,500 for each member of the Black Stars management committee saying its roles with the team cannot be underestimated.

One of the stuttering revelations at the Commission of Inquiry has been the payment to the officials of the Football Association.

This has made the Ghana Football Association unpopular but Yakubu says those who received the amount deserve it.

“My Lord, I think it is important for the members of the management team to earn winning bonuses because they manage the day to day affairs of the team,” he said.

“There is the need to remunerate them for the job they do for the team, so they deserve the winning bonuses.”
