Bahrain's Shukralla to officiate Ghana-Portugal clash

The 37-year-old legal researcher will be the center referee when the Black Stars face Portugal in Group G’s last round of matches in a bid to qualify for the knockout stage

Bahrain's Nawaf Shukralla has been appointed the center man for the crunch game between Ghana and Portugal at the 2014 World Cup on Thursday.

He will be assisted by fellow countrymen Yaser Abdulla, Ebrahim Saleh and the fourth official will be Columbian Wilmar Roldan.

The first Fifa competition for the Asian was the Under-17 World Cup 2011, followed by the Club World Cup 2012 and the U-20 World Cup 2013.

In the same year, he officiated the second leg of the AFC Champions League final, and has refereed the Australia-Spain game in the ongoing 2014 Fifa World Cup and he becomes only the second Bahraini to officiate in the World Cup aside Ebrahim Ak Doy.
