World Cup 2014: Gabby flays Opare, others for poor performance

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, the former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute (DI) has stated that certain players in the Black Stars do not have any business in the starting line-up against Germany in the team’s second Group G match on Saturday.

In a post on his facebook wall a few hours after the Black Stars lost by 2 goals to 1 against the United States of America, Mr. Otchere-Darko called on the team to take advantage of the scoreline in the match between Germany and Portugal by winning the next match.

“We now must appreciate the favour Germany did us by beating Portugal 4:0. We cannot lose against two German coaches,” he posited.

The former DI boss also stated emphatically that “Opare was our worst player. But both goals were scored against us by Boye's sleepy marking. Rabiu, Opare and Andre have no business starting the next game".

These comments come after Ghana lost in her first match at the ongoing World Cup in Brazil. The jubilation of Ghanaians was cut short by John Brooks after he headed in a late winner for USA in a match that has been described as dramatic.
