Okwawu United gets new boss

NANA Asiedu Donkor, a business man, has been appointed the chairman of an Interim Management Committee (IMC) for Okwawu United.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was communicated to him by Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng II, Kwawumanhene and Life Patron of Okwawu United at a ceremony in Accra last Monday.

He is expected to form a management team within the next few weeks after which he will be fully confirmed to begin a two-year term of office.

Nana Asiedu Donkor succeeds Dr F. K. Frempong, who resigned from the post of Chairman of the club after the 2002 league season.

Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng charged the new chairman to work with diligence to ensure that the club rises to its proper place in Ghana soccer.

He urged him to involve all stakeholders in the discharge of his duties to ensure a united approach towards the goals of the club.

Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng also called on all well-meaning Kwawu citizens to provide the new chairman with the necessary support to help him succeed.

The IMC chairman pledged his commitment to the course of the club and asked for support of the entire Kwawuman to help him succeed in the task ahead.

As an immediate task, Nana Donkor said he will service the three-month-old debt owed the playing staff to bring back the team's spirit.

He also promised to purchase a new bus for the club to cater for their transportation problems in the coming season.
