Ghana opponents Germany name injured trio in final squad

Ghana’s World Cup opponents Germany have named injured trio Manuel Neuer, Philip Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger in their final squad for the tournament in Brazil.

The three key players missed Sunday’s 2-2 friendly draw against Cameroon as they continue to struggle with various degrees of injuries.

Coach Joachim Low named just one out-and-out striker – Miroslav Klose – in his final 23-man squad which is dominated my midfielders.

The German football federation submitted the final squad to FIFA on deadline Monday morning.

Germany have had a troubled camp this term – culminating into their disappointing showing in their 2-2 draw against Cameroon before an expectant crowd in Monchengladbach.

Star names Sami Khedira, Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos, Marco Reus and Mario Goetze all expectedly made the final cut.

Germany will open their Group G campaign at the World Cup against Portugal before facing Ghana and the USA in their subsequent matches. Germany’s final World Cup squad:
