Black Stars Farewell Match is Spiritual Exercise - Bonsu

Mike Bonsu, a keen football enthusiast who conceptualized the Black Stars Farewell Match idea says the programme is a spiritual exercise and an opportunity to offer Ghanaians the chance to pray for the players and technical staff before they embark on the World Cup journey.
Addressing the last press conference before the match on Tuesday at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium, he praise Larry Opare Otoo and his staff at PrimeVal Consult for making sure the idea comes alive.
He also congratulated the Ghana Football Association for sanctioning the match and making it possible for Ghanaians to pray for the team before they move to Holland, then to USA and Brazil.
Kofi Manu aka “Blue Blue” who has been appointed General Coordinator of the important game adviced all media men and women to observe all regulations and rules concerning the game as media partners would be given preferential treatment.
Dr. coach Kwesi Appiah who was at the Press Conference hinted that the match is very important to him, since it forms part of his preparations and he wants to showcase all the selected players to Ghanaians.
He called on the good people of Ghana to pray for the Black Stars and promised that every selected player will have the opportunity to feature.
Ibrahim Sannie Darra, Communications Director and Deputy General Secretary of the GFA urged Ghanaians to give massive support to the Black Stars.
He assured the people of Accra, especially in Osu where the stadium is sited that the organisers will do everything to respect the norms and customs of the traditional area, who are observing a ban on noise making.
Jeff Asare, a member of PriveVal Consult said everything had been done right for the match to come on.
“All the few hitches have been scaled and the match is coming on on Friday May 23, 2014. It is the Black Stars versus the Dream Team, made up of players from Division Two, Division One and the Premiership. We have decided to cancel the entertainment package of Castro and Shatta Wale to obey our traditional leaders of Osu” he expressed.
The rate for the match are 5ghc for Popular Stand, 10ghc for the Osu stand, 15ghc for the lower VIP, 20ghc for the VIP and 30ghc for the VVIP.
Unibank is the major sponsor of the match and they are supported ddp, ABL, Huawei, Special Ice and UTV.
The media partners are Okay FM, Peace FM, Peacefmonline, Asempa FM, UTV, Happy FM and GTV.
