Dauda considering Orlando Pirates exit

Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he is considering his future at Orlando Pirates following a frustrating debut season in South Africa.

The 29-year-old has made just three league appearances for the Buccaneers since arriving from AshantiGold at the start of the season.

Dauda’s lacking first team opportunities has been a major source of concern for several Ghanaian fans with barely a month to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. His harshest critics are even demanding his axing ahead of June’s tournament despite being the main man in between the sticks for the Black Stars throughout the qualifying series.

Duada who could leave Orlando Pirates at the end of the season under one of the articles in the famous Bosman Rule has now confirmed he is looking to move whenever an opportunity emerges.

“Surely, that is my prayer [to leave Pirates],” he told “When the opportunity comes, yes [I will move].”

Dauda became Ghana’s first choice goalkeeper after impressing with the Black Stars at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

His sterling showing during the AFCON secured him a big money move to Orlando Pirates but has since struggled to dethrone Senzo Meyiwa as the club’s number one.
