80km Walk From Accra To Koforidua

The VISCO walking Club is organizing an 80 km walk from Accra to Koforidua as a last walking competition for the year slated for Saturday December 21.

This is the second time that a similar walk has been organized along this route. The previous competition saw Moses Sherril of Western Region taking the first position.

Other walkers like Ahmed Tijani Sanni of Ghana Navy, Stanley Brimah, Ekow Rambo, Benjamin Annan all of the Central Region and John Segbe, Atta Bright, Robert Anim, Yaw Fordjour, Thomas Quarque, Andrew Asante, Francis Halm, Musa Muda, Jeandy Koufie as well as Vincent Asumang, have vowed to wrestle the first position from last year’s winner.

According to a spokeman for the Club Mr. Peter Amoah, the walk is a way of thanking the co-operate bodies who sponsored the various competitions to keep the sport alive and kicking in the country.

The companies are; Energizer, Parlays Biscuit, Voltic Ghana Ltd, Savoy Hotel, El-Wak keep fit Club, Ashfoam, world class of race walking in the U.S, U.K. race walking Association, Malaysia walking Association, Netherlands walking Association, Paradise keep fit Club, the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Navy, Central regional co-coordinating council, Cyber city Cape Coast, Graphic Groups of Communications, Exciting Rainbow Sports, Ghana web, Biriwa Beach Hotel, ALITALIA.

The walk starts from El ?Ewak Stadium at 6 am and will go through the Tetteh Quarshie roundabout, Adanta, Aburi through to Koforidua.
