Fatau Dauda will be at Brazil 2014 – GFA official

Ghana’s technical director Francis Oti Akenteng has given the clearest hint that the Black Stars door has not been shut on Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda and that he will be at the World Cup in Brazil.

“The coach [Appiah] has been in touch with Fatau and his club coaches, and we are aware he has been featuring in some of their friendly games,” Akenteng told Sunday World.

“Fatau is one of our tried-and-tested players in the Black Stars, that we have been building for the Brazil World Cup finals.

“The coach has made it clear that Fatau is his preferred goalkeeper for Brazil,” said the veteran coach, who was in Johannesburg for last week's Fifa-Confederation of African Football workshop.

Dauda who is the second keeper at Pirates was overlooked by the stars’ gaffer in last month’s friendly where Ghana lost 1-0 to Montenegro.
