Nii Saka I eyes Kickboxing Association top position

Former national and international kick boxer, Nii Saka I also known in private life as Joseph Mingle has made his intensions clear as a candidate for President of the Ghana Kickboxing Association when nominations open. The Mankrolo of Sakaman near Dansoman in Accra said the sport is dying and it needs a dynamic person like him to organize the clubs and players. He noted that over the past years Kick boxing which looked like an attractive sport after boxing has taken a nose dive and there are no promotions. He hinted that most of the people involved in Kick boxing want him to be the next President. “Yes I have decided to stand and if I am elected, things will change. We need change at the top for effective change. We need new ideas and fresh tactics to put the sport we love most in shape” he said.

Nii Saka who was named SWAG Kick boxer of the year a few seasons ago before being appointed a traditional leader said most young boys and men without jobs in Accra can take Kick boxing as a hobby or business and they would be very rich soon. “We need visionary leaders in Ghana Sports. What Kwesi Nyatekyi has done for football, if I am given the chance and funds are available, we can do better” he stressed. Nii Saka who is MD of Jamykaa Company Ltd said sports need committed leadership and committed players to grow and develop.

He noted that he would be backed by a strong team of sports personalities and they are going to change the face of Kick boxing in Ghana.
