Don Bortey insists he's not finished yet

Former Hearts of Oak star Bernard Don Bortey has declared there is still some football left in him after reviving his career with FC Panthers in Equatorial Guinea.

Don Bortey has set the Equatorial Guinea league ablaze with five goals in four games making him the leading goal scorer in the league so far.

“First of all I am most grateful to God for what he is doing in my life,” the former Ghana U17 star told GHANASoccernet.com

“Some people thought I was finished, but that wasn’t to be. I still have a lot of football in me.

“It’s been long since I enjoyed my football this way. The people accept me and treat me well, and that has made me go out there to ensure I give them my all.

Bortey still harbours dreams of playing for the national team before hanging his boots.

“It would be my dream to at least get another chance to play for the Black Stars but I guess the only way to do that is what am doing now helping Panthers and letting my feet do the talking like I always do.’’
