Ghanaian winger Andre Ayew believes Olympique Marseille must psyche themselves up in order to snatch a European competition spot by the close of the season.
The Stade Velodrome side are now sixth on the French Ligue 1 log and must push hard into the top four to play in next season’s Champions League or win the French Cup to play in Europa League.
“Our final sprint is very important. Now the games are even more important. We cannot say that we have fire, but we must give everything to the end of the season. To me, nothing is more important than that,” Ayew emphasised at a press conference on Wednesday.
“OM must play in the European competition next season. We do not know what will happen. There are still matches. It is up to us to make the ending of the season more exciting.”
Marseille play Reims on Friday in the 29th week of the Ligue 1 and a win is crucial after losing their last two games.
