I’ll stop Soulama from going to court – Malik Jabir

Former Asante Kotoko player Malik Jabir has promised to stop accused Porcupine Warriors goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye from pursuing legal action against persons accusing him of bribery.

Jabir, who discovered Soulama at ASFA Yennega and handed him his first national team call-up in Burkina Faso, said the glovesman needs to focus on his game and must not allow the issue to disrupt him.

“I know that boy. Did you hear the way he was talking? …If I don’t stop this boy he will go there [court],” Jabir said on Luv FM’s Sports Avenue. “I will just call him and tell him to stop and he will listen… I want him to concentrate and finish the league.”

He added: “I’m not boasting. I will talk to him and he can’t say no. I’m still his coach.”

Meanwhile, the Ghana league champions have issued a statement to dispel the allegations against the Burkinabe national goalkeeper, who was accused of accepting a $30,000 bribe from officials of Liberia’s BYC to throw the second leg game in the Caf Champions League.

However, the national Under-23 head coach believes the rumours should have been quashed by the club’s board right from the onset.
