The Barrack Young Controllers players were rewarded with a bonus of US$4000 each for exiting Asante Kotoko from the CAF Champions League.
The Liberian side beat the Ghanaian heavyweights 1-0 in the return leg of the tie last Sunday in Monrovia to progress on the away goals rule.
BYC had suffered a 2-1 loss in the first leg of the tie in Kumasi but returned home to get the job done amidst unsubstantiated bribery allegations levelled against them.
The Liberian FA boss Musa Bility and the club combined to reward the players with a huge financial bonus for their landmark feat over Kotoko.
“Huge financial package [was given the players], the President [of Liberian FA] gave each player about three to four thousand United States dollars,” BYC President Professor Sekou Koneh told Metro FM.
“The boys have done the whole of Liberia proud and we duly rewarded them.” BYC will now be facing Ivorian club Sewe Sport in the next round of the CAF Champions League.
